This Activated Alumina Cartridge can be used in conjunction with your Osmio 1 and 2 Stage Dual Housing Filtration System or any filtration system that uses 2.5" x 10" filters, so most standard housings. The cartridge uses fine white granular media designed to reduce fluoride levels. This cartridge is perfect for those who are concerned about their levels of fluoride intake and want to reduce this from tap water.

Unfortunately we cannot say precisely what percentage is removed from your water as the removal efficiency will depend on temperature, pH, water quality, flow rate, and concentration of suspended solids. However, the cartridge has an absorption capacity of 10 mg fluoride/g or 500mg/l so under optimal conditions may be fully effective at removing all the fluoride compounds.

We would recommend the cartridge should be changed every 6-12 months (or 5000 gallons) whichever comes first.

In Depth Activated Alumina Cartridges, utilizing a fine white granular media are designed primarily to reduce fluoride levels.

Activated Alumina is currently one of the most effective method of extracting Fluoride from water..

It features Activated Alumina and is produced by a careful controlled calcination of alumina trihydrate:

Activated Alumina is made from aluminium hydroxide by dehydroxylating it in a way that produces a highly porous material. Activated Alumina is considered safe and non toxic, non-corrosive and not prone to oxidation and has been widely used and approved within the water filtration industry for many years. It is a recognised treatment media by the WQA (Water Quality Association) and British Water.
