Watts OneFlow Anti-Scale System OFTWH System Review

How does non salt water softener work?

Generally speaking, water softeners soften water by removing the minerals (calcium, magnesium) in water that are responsible for water hardness. This is done through a process called ion exchange, which replaces calcium and magnesium ions with sodium ions. Water softeners need to regenerate, meaning that the resin beads responsible for exchanging hard water ions to sodium ions need to be “cleaned away” from minerals by flushing the raisin beads with brine water.

This is how salt water softeners operate, and this is the traditional water softening process as we know it. Non-salt water softeners, on the other hand, have a different approach to helping you prevent lime-scale deposits, and it doesn’t involve the actual softening of water.
