You understand the importance of water to your health, and the many benefits it has for your body.  Current research however shows that about 25% of the population does not enjoy the flavor of water.  Many beverage companies have spent the last few years focusing on how to offer tasty, colorful, and appealing alternatives to plain pure water.  Disguising them as a healthier option as opposed to soda or diet soda, these new waters are often sweetened, naturally or artificially, to appeal to the taste buds of those who have a sweet tooth. 

There is no substitute for pure, clean, water.  Once additives are put into your water, it alters the manner in which your body utilizes the fluid.  Fitness waters may be appealing because of their tasty flavor and some are calorie free, but always read the nutrition labels.  Many of these waters contain added sugar, sodium, and carbohydrates.  Also be wary of brands that contain added vitamins and minerals.  You may think you are getting more with each sip of water, but if you are using other supplements this may be a concern for your health.  Everything that you put in your body has to be processed and unless you are hydrating with pure water, the additives in fitness waters can have an undesired effect.
